Summary0000248: Passive EXP gain is not increase by calling a Wave early
Description

Miners do get 2x mining speed when calling a wave early to compensate looses due calling early.
Any Towers do not gain quicker exp gain if calling early, nor do Cores.
This may not be a big effect, but it still is somewhat relevant due lvl 10 Abilitys and earlier Core-Upgrades.
It really ramps up if you look at the first 100 waves.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Make a small circular custom map with a blast in middle, path arround. Place a core + a single tilefar away.
2.1. Start the game without early call on.
3.1 placed a single blast far away on wave 5.
3.1 You will notice by end of wave 10 the core is on lvl 2 (+100exp) and not higher. The blast far away will be lvl 6.

2.2 Start the game with early call on.
3.2 placed a single blast far away on wave 5
3.2 Core will be lvl 1 with < 60 exp and blast will be lvl 4.

Maybe your core still had leftover x2 time and you didn't notice? When I played 5.8 just now, the core clearly doubled speed after I called a wave early.

As for towers (and balance mods, if one wants to be pedantic), the lack of doubling was/is probably intentional by the Dev, and this issue would then probably belong in the ideas section of the tracker.

Well if that would be the case it would always run at double speed. I notice a lvl difference of about 5 levels quite soon - which makes a big difference.

If this is intended it would break any passive exp gain reseach/upgrade, making them absolutely worthless. I dont believe this was intended so i reported it as a minor bug/tweak.

The same for abilities - they also gain no reduce cooldown for calling early. This is arguable tho for being intended.

Cores should get a timed x2 bonus, towers will not get extra passively-generated xp for early called waves. That was intended, early wave calls give extra coins and score but players have to decide wether they want to trade that for passive xp generation.

If you have issues with double xp generation of Cores or miners I'll keep this issue opened

Sad about the Tower-passive EXP, making the tech a bit... obsolete.
Anyways yes, i did have problems with the core exp gen too.
Not sure about miners, since i didnt test that one yet.
I guess the waves calls are too fast so the core either forgets its old 2x time or the core is perma on 2x speed from the early wave calls.
I suggest you make the exp gain stacking, so if he has time from 2 waves he gets 4x speed on like 10 sec from both waves, then 2x speed on the remaining 10 sec.

Hello,

Update on this one: i am now quite sure i would have got the exp, but the 2x timer wasn't over yet. It regulary stack on 10min +, which delays the level time. You dont actually loose any exp, but it takes more waves unti you reach ur max exp because of high 2x Timers.

It would be very usefull, if the max time would be 2 min, once it reaches the 2 mins, it does 2* the actual multiplier (2x -> 4x) and halfes the remaining time.
That way the EXP is achived way faster.

Same could go for mining.
