If you tap on one of the offers in the new Item Market on the Shop page to read the tooltip, the text '[...] more items required for full research tree' has the number shortened to three digits (with abbreviation 'k' for thousand etc), while the next sentence 'You have [...] such items' shows the full number.
The offer cards themselves also show the amount you will get as full number and the amount it costs as shortened number. However here it's not really "annoying" like in the other case where both numbers are made to be compared against each other.
