Tesla's ultimate does not have to kill enemies to produce the ball lightning, only deal an equal amount of damage. Also it has not been touched in the last update.

Flamethrower won't have a flame particle when it is disabled or if you have disabled particle effects in settings.

Comment on this issue if that is not a case, I'll also need a screenshot to see if there's actually any issue

There does seem to be something going on with the Tesla Ult in b180. It's triggering way before 10x enemy health has been reached.

Or maybe it hasn't actually changed, and it's just when the tower is overpowered compared to the enemies, such that the the tower is only killing one enemy with 10x the damage necessary...

It may spawn a dozen of ball lightnings if the tower is very powerful, happened before 1.8.5.
I'll leave this thread in feedback mode just in case someone experiences this issue with not so powerful Teslas
