Summary0000488: CONCEPT: "Teamwork-Based" Or "Global" Factory
Description

The "Teamwork-Based Factory" or "Global Factory" would be a server-based factory that would produce items (like bit dust). Now several of these would exist (so like thousands of players would not access a single one). Players would choose to access one of these GFs by opening their inventory tab then selecting the "Global Factory" page/tab. This would then open a list of all Global Factories that exist. You then select one in which you would like to view, and this is where the mechanics will come into play.

GFs function, or produce items, based on "investment." Each and every player can "Invest" into a Global Factory, adding to a total. However, each GF would have an Investment Player Cap, at, say, 100, or 1000, or 2000. (Idk how many play this game with internet connection lmao). Now, remember, while the amount of investees is capped, the amount you can invest in a GF is unlimited.

Now, you say, what do we invest with? Well, no currently-in-game currency would work, as late-game players would be able to invest an exponential amount of GP, resources, or anything else, compared to dirt poor players like me ;-; . To solve this, a new currency would be introduced, hopefully, based on something that can be least susceptible to inflation. My idea would be a currency that would be rewarded based on a combo of real-time played and waves achieved in a game, giving late-gamers a slight, but not much, advantage to the low-level players when it comes to the average amount of new-currency one would get per minute of playtime.

Next part: The Production. Okay, say you invest 200 currency into a GF. What happens? Well, two things. The speed of production, which is based on the total amount of investment everybody has applied, and the yield of each production cycle, which is based on your personal investment. The second product mechanic prevents players from investing very little and "piggybacking" off of major investors. Now while I haven't decided on the exact numerical measurement mechanics or specific rewards (maybe new types of dust & bit dust), I think you get the gist of how this would work.

Now, the rewards product would work something like this: Upon a production cycle complete, you get stuff. Yay. It will be instantly delivered to your inventory, where you can spend or save. You will not be able to accelerate the timing of the production cycle with accelerators, to keep things balanced. After a week or maybe every other week, all factories will reset their investments, maybe giving out a little bonus to poeple who were investment leaders, and bring the amount of currency invested to 0. This would be done to prevent the factories from becoming incredibly overpowered, providing increasingly more rewards over time.

Now back to the UI. The GF tab, after selecting a GF, you would see all the statistics of that GF. You would be able to see your investment, as well as the total investment, as well as other' players' personal investments. You would then see how much time until the next production cycle finishes, and how much you would receive based on your investment. You can also see how much time until the factory resets, and how many production cycles will occur until then. As well, you will be able to see a small leaderboard of, say, the top 10 investors for that GF, and where you are (or are not) on it. Maybe, as said before, people on that leaderboard would get maybe some bonus rewards, who knows. Don't forget the button to invest more currency, too.

Finally, some balancing-related rules:

  • You can only invest in 2 different GFs at a home, to prevent GF hogging.
  • Once again, no investment limit. Invest until you drop.
  • The number of rewards/hour will increase more effectively based on total contribution, while a lesser increase will be based on personal contribution.
  • blah blah blah ill answer comment and questions and explain more rules in the notes

Well. That was a long post. Sorry, you had to read all that (actually not sorry I wanted you to read my 300iq ideas >:3). Hope you enjoyed reading this and learning new things and ideas. Put your comments, ideas, and questions below I guess. Have a wonderful day you amazing poeple!
