Description

Im on Fedora 40 kde proton version, fresh install of steam too, i went to install the game and there was no game data to install, and when doing so and tried to run it, i would get a steam error saying "blah blah blah file not found" then "update needed" but there were no files when i verified integrity. There is no game lol.

Steps To Reproduce

Install fedora 40
Steam settings>compatibility>proton experimental>store>category>linux>add filter "free to play>infinitode 2>install 0 bytes on main drive

As workaround - toggle compatibility mode, same issue for Arch Linux. For beta depot - it need to be toggled twice to get Linux runtime, weird difference with public branch - game is not launching via proton, and by default on linux you get windows runtime depot.

Maybe will be helpful - Dwarf Fortress (975370) got same issue on Linux native build addition, but issue was fixed by this time - setup could be seen on SteamDB.

"toggle compatibility mode" - global steam preferences are ignored by some reason, and it need to be defined for app manually.

Main branch of the game does not have files yet. Linux version of the game is available on "1.9.0-obt" Beta branch.
I can't test Linux builds on Beta without enabling Linux support on Steam, so that's expected. Please use compatibility mode if you want to play 1.8.10 or switch to "1.9.0-obt" beta branch if you want to test the game on Linux
